Red Eléctrica de España awards Nexans with a turnkey contract worth over €50 million to manufacture and install an interconnection cable between Majorca and Menorca

The turnkey contract worth over 50 million euros covers engineering, design, supply, installation and testing of the interconnection. The contract was awarded and approved only 20 days after the Spanish Council of Ministers granted the administrative authorisation for construction to Red Eléctrica and declared it as a public utility project. In addition, Menorca’s Special Maintenance Plan will benefit from a special crane to enable round-the-clock work on the high-voltage grid. Endesa boosts its wind capacity by 132 MW with the purchase of five wind farms

Auctions allocate 2,600 MW of interruptible power to large consumers

Red Eléctrica de España has completed the process for assigning the interruptibility service through competitive bidding auctions with the allocation of a total of 8 blocks of 90 megawatts (MW) and 376 blocks of 5 MW, which translates into an interruptible power for the period 1 January to 31 May 2018 of 2,600 MW. Nordex awarded first wind farm renewal in Spain

Acciona Energía to replace 90 older wind power systems with 12 new turbines The Nordex Group has won a 30-MW order to renovate one of Acciona Energía’s oldest wind farm in Spain.
