El Programa de las TEN-T fue establecido por la Comisión Europea para apoyar la construcción y modernización de la infraestructura de transporte en toda la Unión Europea.
En programa TEN-T está dedicado al apoyo financiero para la realización de proyectos de infraestructura de transporte – en línea con el objetivo primordial de la competitividad europea, la creación de empleo y la cohesión.
La Agencia Ejecutiva de TEN-T, creado por la Comisión Europea en 2006, dirigió el Programa en nombre de la Comisión Europea para todos los proyectos establecidos en virtud de los regímenes de financiación 2000-2006 y 2007-2013. Los proyectos representan todos los modos de transporte – aire, ferrocarril, carretera y vía marítima / Interior – además de la logística y los sistemas de transporte inteligentes, e involucran a todos los Estados miembros de la UE.
El 1 de enero de 2014, la TEN-T EA se convirtió en la Agencia Ejecutiva de Innovación y Redes (INEA), pero la gestión de todos los proyectos siguen a cargo de TEN-T.

The TEN-T Programme was established by the European Commission to support the construction and upgrade of transport infrastructure across the European Union.
The TEN-T Programme dedicated financial support towards the realisation of important transport infrastructure projects – in line with the overreaching goal of European competitiveness, job creation and cohesion.
The TEN-T Executive Agency, created by the European Commission in 2006, managed the Programme on behalf of the European Commission for all projects established under the 2000-2006 and 2007-2013 funding schemes. The projects represent all transport modes – air, rail, road, and maritime/inland waterway – plus logistics and intelligent transport systems, and involve all EU Member States.
On 1 January 2014 the TEN-T EA became the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA), but management of all open TEN-T projects continues unaffected.
